I think I must have upset someone at the arena after I won my last wager because I had two opponents thrown at me in my match today. My encounter in the Mausoleum last night gave me some experience in fighting two enemies at once, but the speed of these two twins was almost too much to handle. My ability at brewing standard poisons has been improving, but after today I think I may need to start creating mixtures that slow my targets down as well. Maybe I'll find a way to add burden or paralysis to the mix.

Ha! The fools tried to catch me off guard, but I proved to be a bit more than the two of them could manage. Perhaps they thought me worn from my bout this morning, but no, I was as fresh as a filly on First Seed. Agarmir and one of his toadies were waiting in the Mausoleum when I arrived, but my bow proved to be too quick for Agarmir's enchanted blade. I will inform Thoronir and Jensine of my success tomorrow before my next bout.

By the Nine, it's true. Kvatch has been destroyed. Daedra in the night, a gate to Oblivion itself. A scout came down this morning saying that Savlian Matius and some High Elf named Thalion led the charge to free the city, but it was already too late. So many lives were lost. Tierra...

I took my recent winnings and spent a good chunk of my day shopping around the Market District. While I was picking up some alchemy components from one of the general goods stores, the owner thanked me for going to her shop instead of Thoronir's. According to her, he's on the verge of driving the other shops out of business. Not wanting to let a true fan down, I told her I would look into the issue. Although honestly his prices didn't seem particularly alluring to me, something about him definitely seemed off, so I went ahead and followed him after he closed for the night. Sure enough, he topped off a long midnight stroll by meeting up with a scoundrel named Agarmir. I think I know where to check next.

I spent today on patrol in Anvil keeping an eye out for any disturbances. To my astonishment, apart from a handful of locals, most of the residents here seem more interested in the local gossip than the plight of the Empire. Rumor of a local band of female bandits was spreading, and despite the ignominious nature of the tale I felt that it was my duty to get to the bottom of the situation no matter what the source.

The claim was that the gang had recently made the Redguard Gogan their latest victim. After a bit of investigating I learned that they like to target married men at The Flowing Bowl, so I purchased a bit of fine clothing and a cheap ring and made my way to the docks. Sure enough, soon after I arrived I was approached by two beautiful ladies who suggested I make my way down to the Gweden Farm for a bit of "fun." However, when I arrived in my Legion armor they party quickly went sour and I was forced to kill the three bandits in self defense.

Soon after I dispatched the sirens, I was approached by Gogan and Maelona, who revealed that they are members of the Anvil City Guard and were essentially using me to get to Faustina and Signy. I do not like being deceived and will make sure to include their misconduct in my report.

They call me Brawler now. Owyn has given me tomorrow off to celebrate my new rank, and recover from my first three fights. I decided to stick around the arena and catch the main event, that Nord Champion nearly blew the head off poor Shad before he had a chance to put his Guard up. I wonder when she'll challenge the Gray Prince, and finally get what she deserves.

Soon after I delivered the missive to Countess Umbranox, the local guards brought a madman named Hirtel into the audience chamber. The Altmer made some ludicrous claims about Daedra appearing out of nowhere and burning down the entire city of Kvatch before Millona silenced him. I'm guessing he's on the tail end of a bad Skooma trip, and I've advised the guards to keep him in custody for the next few days. Things will be bad enough here as word of the Emperor's death spreads throughout town, the last thing we need is some lunatic crying Daedra. I will remain here in Anvil for the time being as the local representative of the Imperial City, and hopefully maintain a bit of order.

Word from the Capital says assassins have slain Emperor Septim and his heirs. I'm to carry the message immediately to Anvil so that the news can be dispatched to the other provinces. I must make haste.

Bones of the dead, the entire ship has been picked clean! All that remains is the cursed captain and the remnants of his Red Sabre crew. Whoever got here before I did knows what he's doing - to be able to clear the entire joint without any of these skeletons noticing is quite impressive...unless the thief was the one responsible for their reanimation. Doesn't matter, someone has my haul and I intend on finding out who.

First things first, I need to turn the Red Sabres into bone meal. We'll call in the crew, set up shop, and take over this province.

Two days down and still alive! Owyn put me in the early morning opener today against a gruff Imperial, who managed to potion through a belly full of arrows before he finally went down. I will need to brush up on my flasks if this is how the Yellow is going to fight. I'm due up again tomorrow at 2:00 for the beginning of the Middas stretch.

Septim is dead, and the Amulet of King's is in my hands. It's a curious necklace, it's as if a part of it refuses to be worn. I should take it back to the Isles and see what Gilcalmo can make of it, get out before these damned humans decide to stick me back in that dungeon. Yet I feel that there may be some truth to what the old man said. Dagon is on the move.

We've arrived in Anvil, and I can say that this will be the last time I ride on a boat with a living cargo. Filch is bad enough on his own, he doesn't need twenty sheep helping him stink up the place.

Dahlia agreed that it would be best if she stayed with the ship in order to deflect any unwanted attention from the locals while I seek out the resting place of old Captain Dugal. If my informant is correct, the cavern should be somewhere in the depths beneath the Castle. If all goes to plan, tomorrow we will be rich beyond our wildest dreams.

You're too old, they said. That bow is too rusty, they said. They all doubted me, they all wrote me off, but look at me now! I did it! I made it to the Imperial City and fought in the Arena! I believe I can die happy now, which may well be quite soon as they want all the Pit Dogs back tomorrow for another round of fights. I can hardly wait!

Saevius 001

The little ones love when I tell this story.

Our Father, Constantius Rulician, was no mere farmer in his youth. Nay, he was decorated warrior, one who helped right our beloved Cyrodiil during the aftermath of the calamity that was Jagar Tharn. From the Colovian Highlands to the edge of the Blackwood, Father hunted dreaded beasts and cleared vile dens of the filth that arose from Tharn's grasp of the province. One such feat occurred right here, just outside our home of Cropsford...

Our neighbors, Aloys and Callia, along with Callia's father, Barthel, had recently left High Rock due to the strange occurrences surrounding the Warp in the West in hopes of finding a new life on the outskirts of the Imperial City. They bought the land we live on today but soon found that it was quite inhospitable due to the warring goblin clans of Cracked Wood Cave and Timberscar Hollow. Unable to defend themselves from the frequent onslaught they faced from both sides, the trio of settlers took their final stand, praying to Arkay as the Rock Biter and Bloody Hand approached from both sides...

At that moment, armor gleaming in the sunlight, Father rode up on Rei, his trusty steed, and lopped off the head of the closest goblin with his steel great-sword, Vir. Quickly dismounting, he drew his second great-sword of silver, Vit, and with a devastating whirl ended four more approaching goblins. Angry and uncertain, both goblin tribes charged Father, hoping to end this new threat before returning to their petty war. Unfortunately for them, Father was up to the task. Both blades dancing, father moved back and forth, taking out members from both tribes until finally it was just him and the two opposing Shamans...

Pointing Vir at one and Vit at the other, Father let out of roaring boom, "This ends here! You will return from whence you came peacefully, or you will face the same fate as your brethren!" Screaming in anger, both Shamans jumped backwards and began to prepare their final spells that would assuredly break this human warrior apart. Too far now to reach both goblins in time, father looked to the sky, lifted both his blades above his head, and with the strength of two men, flung each blade straight at the opposing spell casters. There was no time for the shamans to react as each blade sank straight into their hearts, ending both of their lives and their war simultaneously...
